Best Way To Let Small Businesses, My Potential Advertisers, Know About My New Magazine?

Small businesses will advertise in my new magazine. What is the best way to let them know about my new magazine and the opening sale pricings its having. I don't want to just send out flyers or brochures.

Answer:Ideally, you'd approach likely businesses in person with a list of your rates/sizes of ads, the publication info (how many issues a year, etc) It's a little labor intensive so if you have staff they can get involved here. Businesses are inundated with solicitation daily so if you spend the time and money to mail stuff it will likely go in the trash - just as we put it in trash/recycle at home. A mock up of what the magazine will look like, what type of content, etc, who will write the content and draw up the ad Who will read it -- ie the demographics (businesses selling children's furniture won't be intarrested in Club News, say, and fishing stores might not want to advertise in a parenting mag How your magazine is different from otheres out theree How your mag will be sold/distributed and to what areas geographically Bear in mind even the largeest mags stop printing on an alarming basis and it's a good idea to have ads presold for a few issues to tide you over till it gets going. best of luck! I found this site that may be able to help more http://www.magazinestartup.com/new_business_version_012.htm

Where Can I Find Information About Certain Businesses Or Corporations?

I'm looking to get some information, even just basic information about certain businesses. Is theree a website with a diretcory of some kind or a blacklist website stating businesses not to work with? I'm looking for US based companies right now, but anything is good. Thank you.

Answer:Try the Better Business Bureau: www .bbb.org/ Or, if it's financial info (public companies), try: http://finance.Y!.com http://www.clearstation.com Or - if you're looking for recommendations, try http://www.angieslist.com/Angieslist/ (althoughugh I think you need to pay something to see much - but it's paid off for me to get the recommendations of people to work on my house)

Does Anyone Know How To Go About Trying To Sell My Cookies To Local Businesses?

I am trying to make a little extra money in tough times and thought about selling cookies to small local restaurants and businesses. They are actually cookies on a stick. Some are flower shaped. They are cute and appealing to the eye. Does anyone have any tips or insight inot this? Has anyone been successful at it?

Answer:Have a good handle on how many cookies you can make and the cost and time involved. See what similar products are selling for (the place of business will want to pick a mark up on your cookies). Cook up some samples and hit the coffee and ice cream shops where your product will compliment the shop's products. Good luck.
