Getting To The Bottom Of A 13 Foot Pool Using A Feet First Surface Dive?

I am taking a lifeguard class and we have to go down to the bottom of the pool which is 13 feet. The instructors have had us using a feet first surface dive. I get nearly to the bottom, but I am struggling to reach the bottom completly. I can normally reach the bottom with no problem if I just go down head first, but the type of dive that they are having us use seems to be really hard for me. I get within about two feet of the bottom, and then I start to float to the surface. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Answer:In my guarding class they wanted you to do the feet first surface dive but once you got like half way down they didn't care if you turned around or not

Why Do My Feet Hurt First Thing In The Morning?

Answer:Becky I think you must have had just about every podiatric condition in the book explained to you but it seems no one has come close to a reasonable explanation for your pain. For everyone who selected Plantar Fasciitis, good guess. It is generally one of the most common causes of foot pain, however it is a type of soft tissue inflammation that gets worse as it warms up so it is not likely to be the cause of Becky's problems. I have a sneaking suspicion it is likely to be a mild case of venous insufficiency. This can be brought about by many factors including hormonal changes involved in pregnancy (a shot in the not-so-dark, I had a look at your profile). The condition is characterized by blood pooling at the distal sites of extremities with pain relieved by elevating the legs to allow blood to return to the heart. In the mornings when you stand up, the pain returns until your muscles warm up enough to contract the venous blood back up to the heart. I would see your GP for a vascular assessment and diabetes screening. In the mean time you could try wearing compression stockings to help the venous return. Why Does The Baby Come Out Feet First From A Previous Bulimic?

After a person with bulimia is fully recovered and pregnant, why does the baby come out feet first? Also why are there problems such as mental retardation, breasdfeeding and low birth weight?

Answer:Those are not usually problems associated with delivery after the lady recovers from bulimia- though they are associated with ladies who are still bulimic during the pregnancy. Most likely it's due to the nutritional deprivation of the mother, and by association of the infant in turn. I imagine the breach position is due to the continual vomiting of the mother, which would cause pressure on the uterus once the baby has grown in size that expands out of the abdominal cavity. Problems with breast feeding are likely due to poor nutrition as well- which may have affected breast tissue development. If the breast tissue, and associated milk producing glands are not well developed, it would be more difficult to produce milk when needed. Insufficient nutrition during pregnancy or afterwards would also impact on milk production. The affect on pregnancy and delivery would obviously be affected depending on how long a recover period you are talking about, and how long the lady was bulimic to start with. It all comes down to a lack of nutrition, though. Eating disorders have serious consequences, and recovery won't always fix all of them.

Why Are My Feet Killing Me Especially When I First Get Out Of Bed?

When I have been off my feet but especially when I first get out of bed in the morning, I am in pain when I walk. My feet feel like they have been crushed in a vice! The pain subsides to a slight ache after a minute. I had tests-no vitamin deficiency or anything.

Answer:It could be to do with bad circulation, that's why it gets better when you move about.

If you started digging a hole, at the north pole, at the very top of the earth, and dug all the way through the centre of the earth to the south pole at the bottom, how would you come out? Forget the fact that whilst digging the dirt would pile on top of you. It is just a straight simple tunnel. If gravity will turn you upside down would you end up digging upwards and come out head first? Or would you come out feet first, upside down?
