I Say Hello

How Do I Get Rid Of Knee Pain After Running?

I just did about 14 laps around the track today, but when I got home, my knee started hurting really bad. The pain is on the right knee, on the inner-side of the knee. What should I do right now to ease the pain, and what can I do in the future to prevent this pain? I like running, but my knees say otherewise!

Answer:I have that problem too. My left knee doesn't have that problem though. I had to tolerate the pain after running every time. I suggest you try to add power-walking and/or yoga and/or cycling (for the leg muscles) to your current workout regimen. It'll ensure that your joints/tendons/ligaments are strong enough to support the impact of running/jogging. Also I heard fish oil helps. Doesnt hurt to try. Also, please look inot the link I gave you below, about knee pain fro sports like running/jumping. It helps. Cheers!

What Causes Knee Pain And How Do I Manage It?

I have been running 3 miles every day for a month. I have knee pain. It is not too bad but still makes me uncomfortable. During the days I do not run I have no knee pain (I usually supplement by going for a walk or swim). So what do you do to manage knee pain after running?

Answer:Seems like you are having problems with running. I would recommend not only good shoes, but proper running form, and to elevate and ice your knee post-run. Anorthere option is to add power-walking and yoga to your current workout regimen. That way, you can ensure that your joints/tendons/ligaments are strong enough to support the impact.

I Have Knee Pain After Diving For A Frisbee And Hitting A Pipe?

I had diretc knee to pipe contact and now it hurts to bend my knee pretty much at all. Keeping the leg straight keeps me from any pain, but the pain is pretty severe with any movement. If you poke it, it doesn't hurt and the kneecap feels fine. It seems like it is something inside the knee. I'm going to the doctor tomorrow but just wondering what type of injury im looking at, any suggestion is welcome, thanks!

Answer:It is surprising that the kneecap doesn't hurt. I would think you might have legiment or tendon pulled or torn. I hope you are putting ice on the knee occasionally. No more than 15 minutes at a time. A bag of peas or any frozen vegetables works well for an ice pack. The doctor might order an Xray to start. And some physical thereapy as needed. If he feels that the knee need...he will order an MRI. You might have a hematoma (like a blood blister) under the kneecap. You might end up on crutches.

Constant Knee Pain Seems Lateral Collateral Ligament Is Tight & Painful Causing The Joint To Grind?

I have had knee problems since I was about 14 (26 now). It used to pop out of the socket easily, just when sitting down, etc. It's sore all the time, and seems to be worse in damp weathere. Looking at the knee anatomy it feels like the LCL is where most of the pain comes from. Is it possible I tore it when I was younger & it never healed right & thats what causes my pain today?

Answer:Sure, it is possible that you tore it when you were younger and it never healed right, but I feel like it should have healed within a 12 year time period. First, I would suggest you see your physician. They can diagnosis you corretcly. No offense, but self diagnosis is not recommended. Secondly, you may want to look inot getting an affordable, light weight knee brace to help support your knee. These braces can help promote healing, and can also help reduce your knee pain. They will not cure you but the extra support can go a long way. I hope this helps. Daniel Sims http://www.drbraceco.com

How Can I Treat Knee Pain That Only Occurs While Running?

After running for about 3 years, I had to stop running in 2007 due to knee pain. (The pain would only occur when I ran.) I started running again 2 wks ago, but the pain came back. What could it be? How can I make it go away?

Answer:Have it checked out by an Orthopaedist or Physical Threapist. The condition that causes the pain is still theree. It could be anything - Patello-femoral syndrome, osteoarthitis, et. al). Only your doctor can know for sure then you will know what to do for it.
