I Say Hello

Last Minute...?

10 more days until our wedding!! I was just curious if there was anything that I am forgetting to do at the last minute...I feel like everything is finished but I think there are things still that I haven't even thought about...What were some last minute things that you might have forgotten before your wedding?! Thanks in advance!!!

Answer:Are you getting ready at your house? I'm getting ready at my Mother's will all of the girls so I'm packing a duffel that I can take from there to the church to the hotel....tide to go pen, Tylenol, touch up make up, bottles of water, a few granola bars, Kleenex, bobby pins, curling iron, deodorant, body wipes, flip flops (for all the walking in between festivities)....Otherwise I would make sure you have your attendant gifts wrapped and ready, your lingerie washed and ready, favors and table tags written and everything will fall into place. Congrats!

How To Make Being A Last Minute Person, Work To My Advantage?

Ever since as far as I can remember, I would always work last minute. Throughout years I've tried all the recommended keeping a schedule, etc, etc, etc to stop being so last minute but it would always be that I would start well then spiral down to last minute panicking. This is in everything I pretty much do in life from work to even just down to shopping for an outfit. Now maybe it's time for a new approach. Any suggestions?

Answer:Find a system that will help you get organized really fast so that when you do busy you wont waste you time on the unnecessay.

What Does Last Minute Mean In The Cruising World?

I want to book a caribbean or mexico cruise for June 25 2007 and I am wondering if booking last minute means 1 month before departure or 1 week? When is last minute? I started searching about three months ago and have only seen the prices increase as June gets closer.

Answer:Last minute usually means in the last couple of weeks. Most cruise lines will deeply discount any available staterooms so that they are not empty. They cannot get you to spend money on the ship if you are not there. However, be advised that the closer you get the fewer vacancies are available. Traditionally, June is an expensive season. We have a cruise on Carnival for this Sept. We got 7 nights for under 400 each. It is not going for 599. The prices can fluctuate greatly. Carnival very rarely has empty staterooms on their ships. Out PVP told us that they are filling ships faster than they can process the bookings. And this was for over a year in advance.

Best Way To Get Last Minute Airline Tickets?

I want to fly up to New York from Florida this weekend. I don't need to take the trip so I am willing to wait until the last minute to take the flight. I remember that airlines use to give out very low rates if you were waiting for the flight when it was about to take off or something like that. Does that still exist? I'm willing to go to the airport and leave last minute.

Answer:Really cheap last-minute flights are mostly a relic of the past. Airlines sometimes put some destinations on sale for weekend trips in the off-season, but those aren't usually "ultra-cheap", just maybe a bit better than the normal fare would be if you had bought in advance. You can see those here: http://www.smartertravel.com/airfare/deals-at-a-glance.php For Florida-New York, Brendan Airways (aka "USA3000") is a good bet for last-minute flights. http://www.usa3000.com ... but be sure to first try your cities and dates here: http://www.bookingbuddy.com -- because there's good competition on NY-FL routes, sometimes you can still get a decent deal on last-minute flights. If you need car or hotel + air, then it's often cheaper to bundle them for last-minute. In that case, http://us.lastminute.com is really good.

More than half of the projects in this book can be completed in less than 8 hours

In an age of mass-produced, look-alike merchandise, there’s no greater pleasure than to receive—or to give—a handmade gift. To make gifts for family and friends testifies to your esteem for them and to your loving dedication of precious energy and time.

And there’s the rub. These days, few people have time to create elaborate hand-fashioned gifts. Understanding the demands on contemporary crafters’ schedules—but understanding, too, their wish to express their love and care in this very personal way—led Joelle Hoverson to write Last-Minute Knitted Gifts. Now, in the follow-up to that extremely successful 2004 volume—with nearly 80,000 copies in print—Hoverson and photographer Anna Williams present Last-Minute Patchwork + Quilted Gifts.

The book—designed for use by both first-time and longtime quilters—features 30 patchwork and quilted projects organized according to the amount of time it takes to complete them: less than 2 hours, 2 to 4 hours, 4 to 8 hours, 8 to 12 hours, and 12 hours or more. The gifts are inspired by Amish, Appalachian, and Japanese quilting traditions, among others, and range from easy pillowcases and covered scrapbooks to simplified (but heirloom-worthy) log cabin and crazy quilts. Hoverson also shares an overview of her approach to color as well as the tools and techniques she used to complete the projects in the book.
