are The New Penryn Processors Supposed To Be Better Overclockers Than The Previous Processors?

Are they going to be better overclockers than say all the previous Core 2 Duo exxxx series or is they main attraction that they use less electricity? What is the "theme" of the Penryn processors?

Answer:Penryn - Use less electricity, gives off less heat, new 45nm technology, more cache. They overclock better too considering they need less electricity and give off less heat so higher speeds can be reached. Overall, a total win it seems =)

My desktop has an overclockable cpu (Phenom 9850 quad-core) and oversize cpu fan and extra case fans. I do my own computer work but have never overclocked because of the risks. I thought it might be fun to bump it up a little bit just for the sake of learning more about pc's. What is the easiest way to learn about overclocking?

Answer:If you motherboard supports overclocking, then they (the motherboard manufacturer) should have a program that will allow you to overclock. That program automatically changes your BIOS.

Why Does Dell And HP Computers Have Overclockers Locked?

Answer:Probably because overclocking can be dangerous/harmful to the computer if done improperly - so by blocking it then they can help to prevent any damage to the product. If they were to allow people to overclock, inexperienced individuals would end up overheating their hardware and would be asking for refunds - this way, if you unlock it, they can be exempt from the damage cost and you probably break the warranty agreement.
