I Say Hello

Does The San Francisco Chronicle Serve Its Readers Well?

I am interested in the quality of the coverage. San Francisco County and the rest of the Bay Area is ethnically, and economically diverse. Does The Chronicle refelect the interests of its readership?

Answer:...are you sitting down...? First, the Mayor of that City is an ignorant Idiot... The Chief of police is a.....well, you'll see when you "see" her... the ultra-left sided bias that comes from the print of "that" rag is why...sadly, kAlEfOrNiA is such a mess... It's a wonderful city that has been dragg'd thru the sewer by bottom-dwellers.........

How Very Unfair Was The San Francisco Chronicle Releasing The Information On Paul Byrd Right Before Game 7?

They couldn't wait one more day?

Answer:Yea I thought they same thing. It sounded like they had the information for some time and released before the Indians biggest game in the last 10 yrs. WTF. I felt bad for the guy plus the way Byrd handled it made him seem like he was truthfull about what happened to him.

Is The San Francisco Chronicle Fair And Balanced?

How well does the newspaper reflect the interests of its readership?

Answer:That's going to depend on who you're asking, actually. The people who subscribe to it are going to be more likely to answer in the affirmative to that. In all fairness, no outlet of the media can be wholly "fair and balanced." There will always be a bias of some sort in any place where you get your news (or, at the very least, one that is perceived). Generally, a bias in some sort of story or in coverage of a certain beat isn't intentional, but it's almost inevitable nonetheless. Then, there's a second question that I think you're really trying to ask: "How well does the Chronicle do in attempting to be fair and balanced?" The answers you're going to get will be normative in nature, so they're obviously going to be divergent. Practically speaking, a newspaper would have to reflect the interests of its readership in order to continue existing, or else they won't make money. A good way to get the answer to your sub-question would be to actually look up the percent of people in San Francisco who are reading the Chronicle and compare it to the share of people who read newspapers in general. Is it decreasing or increasing? (Check to make sure Internet readers are somehow counted, too). My personal opinion, though, would have to be "no" to the first question.

Price: $16.98
Manufacturer: Ruby Records
UPC: 667811000126
Singer Jacqui Naylor, whose sophisticated vocal style is often compared to the jazz legends of the _30s and _40s, releases her debut album on the Ruby Records label. Naylor_s recording includes interpretations of jazz standards and forgotten classics as well as original music written for the artist. The artist_s olde-style, yet unique sound floats over the CD_s well-orchestrated arrangements and reminisces the bygone days of truly great jazz singers with hints of Billie Holiday, June Christy and Nina Simone. While influenced by the singers and horn players of an earlier era, Naylor_s experience as a featured soloist with San Francisco's Sacred Heart Gospel Choir adds depth and spirit of gospel to her timeless renditions. L.A. Jazz Scene calls Naylor's voice "precise, languorous and very sexy." Subtle vocal interpretations, relaxed tempos and economical instrumentation characterize Naylor's treatment of compositions by Gershwin, Kern, Carmichael and others, creating an album described by critics and fans as "soulful" and "intimate."
