I have this major turn-off for guys when I see them wearing any form of a sandal. I dunno why, because I wear flipflops everyday living in Florida, but I just find it extremely unattractive. Does anyone feel the same way or am I the only one? Also guys do you think girls look unattractive with sandals? both genders

How Can I Clean Stinky, Expensive Sandals?

I have sweaty feet, and now the leather footbed of my expensive sandals (Wolky) -- $140 for crying out loud -- reeks. I've tried soap and water, rubbing alcohol, even the enzyme cleaner I use to clean my dog's accidents. What to do about this annual sandal problem?? Is there ANYTHING that can get rid of that smell? I don't want to throw away pair after pair of expensive sandals!!

Answer:Sunning it may work wonders. Also, they say that acid (like vinegar) will neutralize the smell. OTOH, they say baking soda will also neutralize the smell. Take a couple of old socks, fill them with baking soda, and tie them off. (You could also try dry coffee grounds or dry tea leaves.) Sun your shoes if you can after every use, and then store them with the soda socks in your sandals to absorb any other odors. DO NOT wear your sandals two days in a row. If you want to wear them everyday, you should buy two pairs of sandals, and alternate days. Before you put your sandals on, be sure you have clean, fresh feet. Give 'em a vinegar bath, and dab on some tea tree oil or lavender oil (test first to make sure you aren't sensitive to them, but generally, they are very mild oils). And during the day, you can wipe your feet with a wet-wipe or other wet tissue. If you have athelete's foot, there are things you can do to clear up that problem. That often causes a lot of stink. Hope that helps! I have had smelly feet too, but it seems to be not so bad these days.

How Can You Wear Sandals In The Desert When The Sand Is That Hot?

I read that people wear sandals in the desert because it keeps your feet cool. But I read that the sand in deserts is more than 150 degrees. If that's the case, how can you wear sandals when the sand is that hot? Your feet would fry.

Answer:The sandals protect the lower part of your feet from the heat of the sand. This is the area where there is direct contact and it surely needs a barrier for protection. The uper parts of the feet are indeed exposed to heat not as much as the face, hands etc but if you wear regular choose, your feet are gonna be too sweaty to walk. You still feel the heat, but it is the best alternative.

My boyfriend and I (mid-late 20s) are thinking of going on a Sandals vacation for our upcoming anniversary. But, we don't know anyone that has gone to a Sandals Resort before. Are they any good? Is it actually nice and romantic? Also, which Resort do you think is best for people our age? Thanks!

Answer:My husband and I went to Sandals Royal Bahamian Resort and Spa for our honeymoon. It was WONDERFUL!!! There are plenty of things to do, and the food was great. We cannot wait to plan our next trip!
