I want to use torrents to download movies and songs. Will somebody please give me some suggestions to use? I have already tried bitlord; it doesn't work for some reason. So please give me some suggestions to torrent downloads. Thanks!

How Do You Scan Torrents For Viruses Before Downloading?

I have Norton Internet and Virus Security 2009 but I don't know how to scan torrents for viruses? Is it possible to scan torrents BEFORE you download them? If so, then please explain how to do it. If not, then how do you scan the torrent once it's been downloaded? Thanks a lot!

Answer:You can't scan a file before you download it. The scan is local to your machine. That goes for anything you download not just torrents. Some antivirus/spyware programs can do sort of a check as a file is being downloaded and warn you if there is a portential threat. The best thing to do is; after you down load DO NOT open the file. Right click on it and there you will see an option to scan with whatever antivrius you have installed on you computer. Then if it is infected the program will quarenteen or remove the file before it can do damage.

How To Finish Downloading Previously Started Torrents?

I have started a couple of torrents in Vuze (formerly Azureus) and I had to re-image my laptop. Is there a way to continue downloading the torrents, as in pick up where they were? NOTE: I have all the appdata files backed up and the torrents.

Answer:As long as the partial downloads are in the right folder (the download folder) you should just be able to open the torrent and it'll do a quick file check and start from where it left off. One quick suggestion though. I was a long time user of Vuze (Azureus before it became crappy Vuze) and I got really tired of it. Switching to uTorrent was the best decision I ever made, I was hesitant at first, but upon trying it out, I'll never go back. Less memory hog, MUCH faster, and very efficient. Try it out. But anyways, yeah if you have partial files, make sure they're in the download directory then start your torrent, shouldn't be a problem

How Do I Download My Torrents Using Bittorrent While Using Opera?

I just switched my main internet browser from Firefox over to Opera. At first I thought the in-browser torrent download was very handy but its become a pain and I can't seem to find a way to force Opera to allow my Bittorrent program to open torrents. I want to continue using Opera, but also not have to open another browser to download torrents as I can't stand the Opera torrent downloader. Thanks for any help.

Answer:You could try using vuze bittorrent downloader (google it as "azureus"), and getting your torrents from mininova.org. I have downloaded using opera with no problems using this software (and vuze is the bittorrent downloader that uses the least memory in your computer). Hope this helps!
